Weekly UZEX Digest (July 28 – August 3)
During the past week, from July 28 to August 3, a total of 37,774 transactions were concluded across all trading platforms of the Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX), which is 7.6% lower compared to the previous week. Of these, 36.5% were executed through exchange trading, while the remaining 63.5% were carried out via electronic commerce systems.
As a result of electronic public procurement auctions, budgetary and corporate customers saved a total of UZS 121.8 billion.
During the reporting period, 3,787 vehicle license plate numbers were sold through the online auction platform.
Exchange Trading
A total of 13,789 transactions were concluded through the open exchange market.
Cement
During the week, 662,271.0 tons of cement were offered for sale, of which 270,892.0 tons were sold, representing a sales rate of 40.9%.
The average daily price of cement decreased from UZS 627.9 thousand to UZS 606.0 thousand per ton. On average, 73 buyers participated in the exchange trading daily.
Flour
A total of 9,840.0 tons of flour were sold through the exchange. The average daily sales volume amounted to 1,968.0 tons.
The average daily price of flour declined from UZS 3,596.9 thousand to UZS 3,536.7 thousand per ton. An average of 77 buyers participated daily in the trading sessions.
Cottonseed hulls
Last week, 1,805.0 tons of hulls were sold through exchange trading. An average of 3 buyers took part daily, and the average daily sales volume amounted to 361.0 tons.
The average daily price of hulls decreased from UZS 4,890.7 thousand to UZS 3,187.0 thousand per ton.
